How the Spidey Tracker Works
Last updated: June 16, 2026
The Spidey Tracker turns the marketing run-up to Spider-Man: Brand New Day into an interactive game. Instead of a static countdown, Sony built a live world map where Spider-Man “sightings” appear over time — and fans race to guess and log them before each stop is officially revealed. Here’s how to use it.
Step by step
1. Open the map
Head to spideytracker.com. You land on a stylized, retro-game-styled world map. Pan and zoom like any map — sightings are scattered across cities around the globe.
2. Read the pins
Each pin is a "sighting." They’re split into confirmed appearances (official, announced promo stops) and rumored ones (buzz that hasn’t been verified). Filters let you focus on one type, or on events near you.
3. Watch Ned’s intro
Ned Leeds — the in-movie creator of the app — greets you with a video message. It’s the bridge between the fictional "Spidey-tracker" from the film and the real promo site.
4. Report a sighting
The tracker connects to @spideytracker on X. Post where you’ve "spotted" Spider-Man and the community buzz feeds back into the map.
5. Trailer, events & tickets
From the same site you can watch the latest trailer, browse real-world appearances in the events directory, and jump to ticketing links as showtimes open.
Why it’s more than a gimmick
The tracker is lifted directly from the film. In Brand New Day, Ned Leeds tells Peter Parker he’s built an app called “Spidey-tracker” where users report Spider-Man sightings around the city. Sony took that fictional app and shipped it as a real website — so playing with the tracker is, in a sense, stepping inside the movie before it opens.
Everything on the tracker
Interactive world map
A stylized, retro-game-styled map where you can pan and zoom to view Spider-Man "sightings" all over the world, split between confirmed appearances and rumored ones.
Report a sighting
The site connects to the official @spideytracker account on X, so fans can report where they’ve "spotted" Spider-Man and add to the map’s buzz.
Events directory
A dedicated section lists real-world Spider-Man appearances and events you can actually attend as the press tour rolls out.
Ned’s video message
Founder of the in-universe app, Ned Leeds, greets you with a video — tying the promo site directly to a scene in the movie.
Trailer + tickets
Watch the latest Brand New Day trailer and jump to ticketing links right from the tracker.
Sound + map filters
Toggle the soundtrack and filter the map to focus on confirmed stops, rumors, or events near you. (Samsung Galaxy is a campaign partner.)
Open the official Spidey Tracker
Pan the world map, watch sightings light up, and report your own — live on the site Sony built for Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
